...points. Mission accomplished? Government Motors lost 4 points of market share during Cash for Clunkers. And why not? They make lousy cars. I bought a brand new 2009 Toyota with my $4,600 trade in allowance (I paid the rest in cash). Toyota is now the #1 selling line of vehicles in America. Proudly designed in Japan and built in America by non-union workers. Gee, thanks for the free cash Barry. Your UAW pals might be less appreciative though. LMAO

QUOTE: According to the figures, Toyota's "clunkers" market share was 19.4 percent, compared with its year-to-date U.S. share through July of 17 percent. ... GM reported 17 percent of "clunkers" business compared with 21 percent from January to July

Toyota not Totoya. LMAO. Anal retentives take note.
Well of course Toyota, which makes a superior product, gained share. That is why I bought a Toyota myself, not a crappy GM. I am conserving my own capital by paying for quality.

Well obviously GM isnt good at the whole "free market" ideal that you neo-cons love to preach about. Toyota makes cheaper, more efficient cars. Thus, the consumer buys them. If GM wanted to finally get its act together and make well-built, efficient cars, maybe people would start buying them.

Maybe we should have just let GM completely collapse. They obviously dont know how to make cars the consumer wants.

Didn't you post a bunch of questions in which you said you would never buy a GM car because they were trash?

And aren't you a capitalist? Don't you believe that if Toyota increases market share, it's because they're making a better product?

I would think you would be happy if Toyota gained market share.

And by the way, there are probably as many US workers building Toyota cars as building GM cars.

It's ignorant Americans who keep on sending their dollars to Japan instead of investing in themselves.
I hope they are happy with their crappy foreign cars. To me they all look the same whether it be Honda, Toyota, Nissan.

I love my Chrysler Sebring Convertible. It's reliable because I take care of it, stylish and it doesn't look like every other car. We have good, nice American cars, people just like to bury themselves and then cry "why don't we have jobs?" when they are driving a foreign car.
