Liberating is one thing; freeing them is another.
Camps were liberated from the Germans, but the prisoners were encouraged to stay because of the logistics in that they were better able to be cared for in situ rather than thousands a upon thousands wandering around with no food or clothing and some very sick.
The Allies did all they could to look after them and the problem as each camp was discovered, much have been overwhelming with the discovery of the terminally ill and the unburied dead to deal with.
