It seems that many of the bills and "acts" passed by congress since Obama was elected give the federal government more control over our private lives. Is this something that most liberals find acceptable and actually want or is it just the few leaders?
Please don't go into some tirade about how bad the conservatives/republicans are and what they do or don't want. I really just want to try to understand the liberals ideas on governing and where our freedoms and liberties should end and the government should begin in dictating our lives.
I'm considering bills like Obamacare that MANDATE you to carry insurance. Or how they are tying the purchase of guns to your tax returns and making you pay a tax on them (whether you agree or not with guns we are afforded that right by the Constitution).
To those who argue about requiring you to worship certain gods- I know of no one demanding that. Or telling who a woman if they can or can't kill their baby. THis is where I'm conflicted b/c it seems that liberals want to fight to keep serial killers or rapists or murders alive in prisons, but then are alright with the murder of a complete innocent. These are things that I don't get. Please help ignorant old me.
