I feel like theres a feeling of community and almost..a very broadly shared set of values or a way of viewing the world that is rare among straight people. Like marginalization because of our gender expression or genders or sexual orientations connects us and makes me feel drawn to other queer people in a way that I haven't quite felt with straight, cis people. I had a crush on a straight girl in my first year of high school, where I hardly even knew what it MEANT to be queer besides 'not straight' but I don't know that I could ever really fall for a straight girl like that again.
