lg xenon cell phone fell in the toilet and water damaged :( help! what do i do?

had my phone in my pocket & it fell in the toilet after i peed so i grabbed it and took the battery and everything out and dried it off. then i put it in a bowl of uncooked rice and left it there over night. today i went to turn it on and it was working fine but then the touch part of the screen stopped working so i cant do anything... please help ! is there anything i can do or is it done for?
i keep reading that i should have put it in a cup of alcohol or clean water.. is it too late for that or should i try it?
orrrrrr if anyone has an xenon is there any way to read my messages without using the screen?
