I tried it like that and when it came time to write w/ LGdl it wouldnt because it needed to know the SPC. Besides, The first few steps are basically re-writing the SPC from what it was to 6 zeros; so I'm not sure why you claim that.
Anyway, I Found I had an old CDMA workshop already, but it was the 2.7 ver. This one doesnt have the last step in it (The EVDO tab). Being an Old School guy, cant I do this is the Long programming? I found some of the stuff was alraedy written but other stuff I wasnt sure of. I thought I had seen this written here somewhere, but cant find it now. So I guess I'm asking if you can do the last step any other way. I also tried to open it up in NV edit mode on LGdl, and it would read and not open up. Strangely enough, I was able to open this up w/ a vx8500. I wonder why it wouldnt on this?
BTW: WORD OF WARNING: I have attempted to do this with 3 phones. The first one started the Bin and stopped aT 2%. iT FROZE; WOULDNT BUDGE. I had no other choice but to shut everything down and pull the cord. Now all that happens is the LG logo flashes on and off against a white screen with the orange bar below. I believe I have officially bricked that one. But I dont know why it happened or, how to fix it. I pulled the battery and put it back in; still the same thing. (Anyone know how to fix this?) The battery was low, but I plugged in the charger and it was charging; but I dont think it mattered because the charging was stopped at certain times and the process was totally reliant on the Battery power, which was nonexistent. Therefore, I can only conclude the oldest Flashing rule exists DONT ATTEMPT WITHOUT A FULLY CHARGED BATTERY! Whether you have the charger attached or not, it doesnt matter, you'll brick it!.
The only other reason I can think of is my computer is old. For those of you trying this with an older os (I have W2k,1000mgz,750 ram) make sure ALL your programs are closed and you have run your spyware program. Because this program takes up over 50% of the CPU power, you'll need to be running at optimum speed. Just some FYI... and maybe the leading cause of bricked phones.
One other note. After the Bin step and the SCR step, a box will appear stating the process is completed and giving you a choice of Continue or End. Press END. By pressing Continue, it just redoes everything again...I didnt see this noted anywhere...
