qpst has a funky way to read and write items, i never liked it. if it's not fully compatible with the model it can cause issues. try qxdm, as your only editing the line item that you want, or even the nv item browser if you dont want to jump on the cdma ws

and if your items stop working, check user, pass, proxy, etc, its likely a setting got thrown off..... instead of reloading the entire software

Anyone have the Alltel Firmware for the 260? I did this and for some strang reason it wont take the Metro PRL. Every other one will wright and show in the phone and even connect to the SID but not 1 of the MetroPRLs work. I was trying to get MMS working via the CK settings. PM me if you have it THANKS!
 
When you say the PRL won't work, do you mean you can do a 611 call and it goes to Metro? Or it doesn't show up in the phone at all? My guess would be to to to the CDMA Workshop and go into the NAM and see if it is enabled. Otherwise, go to the sticky and download Amoamare's solution for the Rumor. I think that is an Alltel bin that has a custom ERI and SCR file.

Just wanted to give props to amoamare, I flashed my first rumor all the way today, even screwed it up and then fixed it. all using amoamare's tutorials.

slice of pie goes to randomwit too, he got me started down the path to successfully flashing phones.

Thanks to the rest of the contributors to hofo too, I see a lot of people hacking on the folks that put all this info out, just thought i'd give credit where credit is due.

to the newbs - when yer goin thru the forums reading up on how to do stuff to yer phone, Pay attention to the version numbers of the software recommended. its important most times.
 
I'm having a 100% return rate on the LG rumors.. the internet stops working after about a month and now we are having people that can't dial out.

Anyone else having this issue?
 
Well i dont offer support for the flash file anymore, i dont seem to have these problems though so o well.... FIX it if you think you can. I dont see a means for me to fix it.
 
No one else has these issues, your customers are likely messing around with the settings, performing OTAs (prls are changed, settings, etc)... It sounds like you're selling the package :p shouldn't you have a technician in house?? amoamare, as he, said doesn't provide support, especially for non-customers. Check data authentication/nam/prl, if you or your tech are still having trouble finding the issue.
 
Yes, we do have a tech in house.. me. I guess we will see if anyone else has this issue. I have told the customers to not dial *228 or it will mess up their phone, so I don't think that is the issue. I can resolve the issue by re-entering the username and password through the programming menu, but it seems to only ba a temp fix because it happens again in a couple of weeks.

Also, today in the Cincinnati market, everyone with a rumor can't dial out. Cricket's internet is not working here on any phone, so I'm sure the two are related. If someone tries to dial out on a rumor it just hangs up after about 3 seconds and goes back to the home screen. Anyone else having this issue?
