LG rumor 2 - hold screen won't show up?

My little sister is having a problem with her phone. It's an LG rumor 2. She's only had it for 4 months. Now we don't exactly know what happened but she was hanging out with her friends and one was looking through her phone. I think they may have changed a setting because now the hold screen won't show up. If she presses and holds the back button, or leaves the phone alone for a bit, the hold screen SHOULD show up, but it doesn't anymore.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Is there a setting for it? Because we couldn't find it.
