LG phone charger gets hot after 30 min. Is this a danger?

Grandson tried to put charger in phone upside down & bent some pins a bit. Finally got it to charge after messing with it awhile, but now the charger gets hot while plugged in.

um, i would suggest getting a new charger, if he broke it earlier you shouldn't have messed with it! get a new one.
