lg lotus

If you look a bit deeper in this forum, there are several threaRAB that talk about Sprint phones being impossible to full flash because they use a different platform for the picture messaging.

On the other hand, if you are able to get the generic RABT for the phone or the Alltel or Verizon version along with the correct DLL, then you are well on your way to getting a fully flashed Lotus.

:clapping: i read the forum for 2 days and the i haven't found anything for lg lotus i know how flash the prl but i will like somebody point me to the right direction to do this job perfect i :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Obviously not too many ppl have been able to work on the Lotus, especially not post info specific to it. I have figured out many phones by going off of what is known about similar and sometimes completely different phones. That is what I suggest you do.

READ, apply, evaluate, READ again, apply, experiment, evaluate, READ and so on.
It takes time to figure out new phones. Internet may be possible, but without a non-Sprint firmware its probably impossible to get pix messaging.

I was able to take the phone into Metropcs and they flashed the phone. All voice and txt messaging worked but I couldn't get the internet working. So, I went into the phone settings ##data# and changed the sprint connection settings to Metro. But it's still now wokring. Is there someting that I missed? Do I have to use QPST anyway other settings?

I used CDMA Workshop to write the cricket.prl to my LG Lotus LX600.

I can't remeraber where I got the prl file for cricket but I know that there was a large list of them. Here is a link to the prl file I used:

http://xsylus.angelfire.com/cricketprl/38944.zip

To edit mms, wap, and other settings so that those features work with cricket as well type ##3282# and just look through the settings. Note that you will need to know your security code for some of these menus and you will need to know your lock code to make edits. CDMA workshop should be able to tell you what the lock code is if you don't know it.

Flashing the PRL in CDMA Workshop:

1.) On the main tab choose the correct COM port for your phone and then click the Connect button. On the left/bottom status area you should see info stating whether your phone connected successfully or not.

2.) Go to the "Other" tab and look where is says PRL

* I had two options at this point Universal and LG

3.) Select LG from the drop down and leave the other drop down on NAM1. Then select the Read button and save the file in a good place with a descriptive name. That is the backup of your phone's current PRL.

4.) Next select Universal from the drop down menu and select the Write button and choose the cricket (or other service provider) prl file and click open. You should get a popup dialog that says the phone was successfully flashed.

5.) Close CDMA Workshop; it'll will ask you to restart the phone, click yes. Next unplug the usb cable from the phone.

6.) To test, dial *228 on your phone. If the prl flash worked you should hear the automated system say, "Welcome to Cricket" (Or whatever carrier you flashed it to).

Hope this helps.

that is the easy part! the other part everyone wants to know is how to get the web and data settings to stick.putting them in the phone is simply put ,a 2 minute job.getting them not to revert back to the "old" settings is the trick. i have spent many hours of not only working this phone from many different angles but also searching through what seems like hundreRAB of pages of lotus this and lotus that, and apperently there is no workaround or tutorial for this posted.it amazes me that anyone would think that this is not possible.we have cracked most every phone out there, but not the lowly lotus,
come on,my partner has done this, but for some reason he did not make note of his method, and now, guess what? we cant seem to figure this out again. i will get this phone, and when i do i will post a tutorial for for everyone.i just hope i am not to old and arthritic to type it out for ya. oh and if anyone happens to get it before me and wishes to share please do so.lots of us would appriciate it. i have a pile of them in my store, but they are t&t only. that is irritating.

I got rid of my lotus. The lotus is a cheap kiRAB toy compared to my Droid. Just get an android phone like the HTC Droid Eris, they are super easy to flash to Cricket. The CDMA nexus one is expected to be released March 23rd.
