LG Env VX9900, problems with TXT's after flashing with cricket?

I flashed this phone about 2-3 weeks ago, and it all worked fine until today. My phone doesn't let me send txt messeges for some reason. I can call, recieve calls, and even recieve txt messeges but i can't send them? I tried it a few times, and out of 5 send messeges only one could get through?

Please someone help?
 
had this problem with a chocolate recently. try reset to factory settings in the security menu (doesn't delete anything only resets settings). if that does not work try reloading the prl and reset to factory settings.
 
well, i entered all the values again as if i was flashing it again, like MDN MIN, home SID and all of that, and i have send 3 messeges with no problem, i hope it continues like this.

One question though, when i flashed the phone, i didn't use a cricket PRL, i just entered everything manually (from service menu)? Could the problem that didn't let me txt? Do you forcefully need to load a cricket PRL to flash a phone?
 
Well, i entered everything manually on the phones service menu, in the LG EnV, you press menu and 6 zeros to get to this menu. Then, i went to service program, and entered everything manually, starting with MDN. Before i did all of this, i registered my phones ESN with cricket.

Is there something wrong if i did it this way?
 
your phone cannot connect to cricket without a cricket prl. i.e. you have to get a cricket prl on the phone to use it with cricket service. you may have done this through OTASP (*228xx) or via computer, but you did at some point load a prl or you did not "flash" the hanRABet to cricket.
 
Oh yeah LOL, i did it over OTASP, sorry, i forgot to add that to the description, but anyways, is there anything wrong by my way? Is there any difference between loading the PRL via computer than OTASP? Thanks for all the help so far
 
The problem you were experiencing sending text messages could have been solved by removing your custom signature. It seems some lg phones allow you to make a custom signature using syrabols and characters that just don't work with cricket. I've seen this exact problem many, many times, and the signature was always the cause.

Also, before I had data cables for LG and Samsung phones, I used to "flash" them to cricket using only the options in the phone, mainly the service programming menu, by changing the SID to 5458 (Cricket in Denver). Sometimes I would have to modify the network type from Automatic to be PCS or sometimes CDMA. I didn't know about 5-digit OTASP *228xx codes, and the ESN was never active when I would do this. I wouldn't consider the phone ready to be activated, until *228 went to cricket. I only had a data cable for motorola's, so I know for fact I did not load a .prl. I learned to do this by using a native cricket phone as the source of information. I'd simply change all the values in the verizon phone to match the values in the cricket phone's service programming menu.

Thank you JuanPerez for asking the question and thank you beezlewaxin for the answer! I was just searching to find out if anyone had this exact same problem! I took off my sig. and it works great again.....I was about to throw my phone through the wall there for a bit! LOL! Glad I restrained myself cuz it works great now! Thanks again! :2thurabs:
 
Well I thought it was all better.... but here it has been a few days and now it is doing the same thing! But it seems to be able to send texts if I send them out as picture messages?? I don't get it!!?? I have great reception right now both EV and 1x show all bars. I am sooo lost! Anyone have any ideas??
I also wanted to ask something that will really be noobish but oh well ....Where would I find the factory settings?? I mean I know how to get into my phones service menu but uhhhh where are the factory settings?? And will this revert any of my other things like EVDO or my unlimited clicks etc ???
 
Serious??? What about all the other stuff ....like my brew apps and web etc??? Am I going to have to basically redo the whole thing?? And if I do should I go ahead and do the firmware upgrade to 04 ...mines 02???
