LG Dare Wap Issues

What's up everybody? I have a quick question that I haven't seen posted as of yet. I just finished flashing my new LG Dare and can't seem to get the wap and mms to work. I don't know what happend but the Dare has some options that I haven't seen before and I don't know if that makes a diffrerence or not. I set everything up in LG Download the same way I always do but still nothing. Can anyone help me out?
 
What i came across is that you dont use LG Download for that, you have to use another LG Program for it in order to truly set it up, that was going to be my next phone that i work on but im still on the Voy trying to fix the Broken Brew lol somehow all the How To;s is not working. so with that in mind i would not touch the Brew on that phone either x.x
 
Well do you happen to know what program you can use to enable the web on this phone?

And to answer the other question yes you can get to the program menu using that method.
 
I think you have to HexEdit some files and im not sure, i just read it somewhere, im going to try it out when i get my VX9700 in the Morning.
 
Well i read that using the 9100VX Dll would work but it just killed the phone its stuck in restart so there went that idea, i cant even get it to stay on long enough so i could use bitmap to restore the FileDB thing. anyone have ideas or how to put it in ER Mode or something?
 
did someone get this wap to work on the dare yet??? if so can you guys help me out with someinfo??? i see the humpa site and the 9100dll but there is also a 9700 dll

what are these files and how do i use them?? bitimp??

all info would be greatly appreciated

Dude--assuming you're new to this, the Dare is a pretty sophisticated device to try to cut your teeth on. So while I do have respect for you for jumping in head-first, I don't think your model of choice was the wisest.

But I'd like to take this moment to welcome to the wonderful world of phone hackery! :buddies: I recently bricked my first phone ever--the LG Rumor for Sprint. And now, I'm no longer a virgin! :rolleyes: Regardless of my flawless record, I knew it would have to happen sometime. It just goes with the territory: You mess with bees, you're likely to get stung. Maybe even a few times.

But once you fix this phone (and hopefully you DO), you will feel a distinct sense of self gratification that not even spanking your own monkey can compare to.
 
iv tried many different things iv had the dare vx 9700 for a couple weekes i got the flash to cricket but not wap or mms. i have read and read but ever thing is a dead end. i used bitpim and hex editor uniCDMA Qpst and more i just cant find the string in the binary code that needes to be changed, so i can change the info in the ##program9700. i tried to use the vx 10000 and 9900 tutorials but they dont work the dare iv read and got the correct prl but still i just need a lil better guidence for the dare i cant seem to get the other phones tuts to match up with the vx9700 will anyone help please im not a person that has not tried and tried to do it from the forums before aking for help but they just dont connect with the dare vx9700
 
ok i used the bitpim program i connect ro my phone via usb cable. thenusing bitpim in the left bar i clicked file system\browser\fileDb sent it to hex. opened it in hex changed the last to digts form 00 To 01 and the Last 30 to 31 and then saved the new file and overwrote my old one using bitpim. now via (##program9700 send) i can alter the wap settings but then when i use the vx9100 dll in lg downloader(which does work fine up till this point) i can connect i just cant alter the data and wap fileRAB that are shown in the tutorials the fileRAB are gray that can not be altered but some of them are white and they can be altered i just need to know how to unlock them so i can change them to the correct settings as in the tutorial for the vx9900 which was a mojor help to getting me this far i would advise anyone elese to check that out that hase not yet done so. :confused:
 
dude be super carefull how you proceed

i did the alteration of the filedb and everything worked perfect

i could edit the files use ##program9700

once i did that i started playing and changed the user name and i got shafted cause now my phone wont get past the verizon screen

so a of right now i got a $350 paper weight

ill sell it of youd like :crying: :crying:

make sure you know all the steps before messing with the phone
 
If you used bitpim to back up your files before doing this, even if the phone will not boot totally, you should be able to put the backed up file back into the phone. Even when the phone is charging, Bitpim sees it and will read data from it.

I am trying to use a different server for wap as a friend has one set up, but after reading all the posts, I will make sure to back up my data first. I can set up the "server" to use the existing user account and pw. Thanks for the warning and good luck at getting your phone back up and running.
 
my phone works fine even after changing some stuff i know basic binary code so this is not to far out there if you just take time it all becomes understandable. i just have no wap of mms so im still trying. berry_lthird has posted a solution im trying to see if i can do it now wish me luck
 
what sucks is that if i try to us btipim it doesnt recognize the phone now

the phone turns on
the verizon screens comes out
and like a couple seconRAB later it turns off and starts over

it doesnt give you enough time for bitpim to recognize the phone which is the wack part lol

anyway let me know if you guys are unable to unbrick it :reallysad :reallysad
 
thank you for the help and postive feedback and yes i am new to this. i did not look up the hack info and expertise level required for this phone before i bought it. i just wanted the newest and coolest the fastest. i learned very much from this and and it has add alot of learning cruves for me. i am very computer literate just not in this type of programing and hacking.

i will not give up like that i will rise above this problem and share how i fixed it.

i will now be taking this to the wise ones my father, a 20 yr component level bench tech, and brother, 10 cnc machinest and computer science grad that will for sure help me with his computer skills and his componet level we shall fix it by what ever means which i should have done at first but like i said i wanted it fast they live 200 milies away
