LG Cookie (KP500) email?

I have 3 different email accounts. One is Yahoo!, one is Google and one is with Fasthosts.co.uk. I have been unable to set up email retrieval on my LG Cookie with any of them. It just sits there trying to connect until I cancel the operation... The email providers never give info for specific mobile devices... IMAP... POP3... SMTP... SSL... Ideally I want the yahoo! account working but i'm sick of entering port numbers etc...
