LG Chocolate/enV vs RIM 8703e vs Sony w810

I made the switch from Sprint to Verizon 2 years and I have no complaints with Verizon, and will never go back to Sprint. I'm looking for a new phone and have it narrowed down to these four, but I'm open to other suggestions, including carriers.

Primarily looking for a great phone with great reception. camera/mp3 a plus but not neccessary. I've always liked LGs but I've heard several good things about Blackberry and Sony. I've never owned a PDA/Smartphone as the size has never appealed to me (although they've come down considerably, especially compared to my VX8000). Text messaging definitely, possibly would use email provided it's fast and simple to use, web browsing probably not unless it has a decent browser.

Another big plus would be if it does have a camera, ease of use uploading/downloading to a PC w/o carrier software. I purchased a cable and downloaded some 3rd party software so I could download pics from my VX8000, but that only worked for a couple months. The PC had trouble recognizing the phone most of the time via USB.

Currently leaning towards the chocolate for looks, size and functionality. I like blackberry but it's width is the only thing that concerns me. Also no sound/camera. The SE w810 also sounds great but it's Cingular, whom I have no experience with and would entail switching carriers. 950 I'm not even sure if that's out now.

I'm located in Milwaukee. Thanks in advance

after some more research I think I'm going with SE and Cingular. Great reviews on the SE phones and I like the k800, w810 and w950 for size, coolness factor and looks.

I checked on cingular's website and the 810 isn't listed as an available phone now....it was yesterday. Does anyone know when the 950i will be available? out of the 3 anyone recommend one?

missing camera on the 950 doesn't matter much to me, the call volume on the 810 is more of a concern.

The W950i will not work very will on Cingular since it lacks a major band that Cingular uses in their network (gsm 850), so its not a very good option for your. The W810i or K790a are your best options.

thanks for the help and for pointing that out Echid.

some other noob questions (since i can't find any answers via searching or browsing).

1) When will Cingular carry the k790a?
2) For those with cingular and the k790a, were you able to apply any type of discount when purchasing a plan to work with the k790a? also, how did you activate your phone with Cing if they don't support it?

sorry for the newb questions, i'll call em tonight myself.

Since you're going with Cingy, would want a multimedia phone with camera, good size, and good for texting - and email would be a plus - have you considered the BB Pearl? That would have everything you want.

I have considered the pearl, it does look sharp. size and looks i think go to the k790a. blackberry has always attracted me though. hmmm.

learned alot reading from these boards, you guys know your stuff. thanks for the info and the input.

decisions, decisions.

just wish i could keep the "my mom bought me this phone" title lol

Want a good phone with good reception, texting, camera, and mp3, you're already on Verizon, and you have the 8000 which means you're used to good pics....definitely look at the LG 9900.
