LG Ally problems

When I got my Android LG Ally yesterday, it started up fine in the store. I saw my email, contacts, pictures, etc, so I left the store. Within 10 minutes, I got an error, "Heat Sensor Detected, unplug battery". The phone was Very Hot now. I left it unplugged for an hour, re-inserted the battery and let it charge for 5 hours. Nothing, it never came back on.
I took out the battery and re-inserted it this afternoon. Again it came up for 3 minutes, died, flashes red. I've been on the phone with Verizon and they say to let it charge another 5 hours.
Has anyone ever experienced these problems?

I've had similar problems too. It took about three weeks from the day i purchased the phone, for it too heat up. Now I thought that it might the skin I have on it but that's ridiculous. After using the 'Open Advance Task killer' and turning off my 'running apps', the feels like its cool down. I think there is a glitch w/ the system. Even earlier today the music player stopped w/o notice. Weird. And know every once and awhile it seems like the phone resets itself (showing the 'android' logo w/ black background. lastly, I can't manual shut off the phone. It won't allow it. Sounds familiar to anyone?

My Ally died yesterday. I was web browsing and the screen went straight white for a while and then to black. It will not charge or do anything. I kind of remember it being warm at times, but I had a thick case on it so I can't say for sure it was a problem or not. Purchased on 7/6.
