Lexicon Lambda latency?

I have the Lexicon Lambda 4x2x2 and am having problems with latency. I have a dual core AMD processor laptop with 4Gb RAM and plenty of hard disk space. I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers rom the Lexicon website. The software bundled with the Lambda was Cubase LE4 which I have also updated via the Steinberg website. I have checked the settings and the Lexicon ASIO driver is selected ok. I can hear what I am recording via the headphone socket on the Lambda. An intermittent buzzing can be heard but nothing too serious. However, when I playback the recording it is garbled and noisy which loads of interference. I have tried everything I can to resolve this but am at a loss. I disabled direct monitoring before playback and also the recording function (in Cubase LE4)

If anyone else out there has a similar setup and has experienced the same problem, and have now resolved it, I would appreciate it if you could share the solution here.

hi, remember me? you answered my quesion a while ago about browser failure. you don't have any contact info so i had to do this, sorry. :)). i think you are right, there's something wrong about my user account. i made another administrator acount as you suggested. logged-off and tried to log-i the new account but it says " the user profile service failed to logon. user profile cannot be loaded" and when you click ok, it automatically logs off. i also tried making a new standard user account, and still the same response...

your answer was helpful. do you have more ideas regarding this matter?
thanks stephen. :)
