Hi Everyone!

My doctor put me on lexapro 10 mg for GAD 10 days ago and I have to say so far so good. My side effects have been limited to stomach pain / nausea in the mornings when I wake up. I know I've read that nausea is a fairly typical side effect. My question is should I be concerned with stomach cramping? I always carry my anxiety in my stomach, but this morning stomach cramping is unusually strong. It typically dissipates as the day goes on. Anyone else experience this? My second question is will lexapro help with muscle tension? I have bad tension in my shoulder blades. How long did it take to see notable differences? I notice definite changes in mood and social anxiety, but tension, erratic breathing, general anxiety remain intact.

Thanks,

Did you explained to your doctor about your stomach? It's better to you to explain about your problem. Doctor will recommend any drugs which is safe for you.

Actually, lexapro has many sides effect. They include:Constipation; decreased sexual desire or ability; diarrhea; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; headache; increased sweating; loss of appetite; nausea; stomach upset; tiredness;sleeping problem.

How long it should be taken? every people has different result in the treatment, so it depenRAB on yourself.

I used to be on Lexapro and 10mg worked well for me. Give it more time up to four weeks but if you are still not feeling totally better talk with your physician about a higher dose. I took mine with Lorazapam 1mg for all my woes (panic attacks, depression, insomnia, phobias, all my fun anxieties....I call them BAD, SAD, GAD...MAD! I still take .5-1mg a day of the Lorazapam but have been off Lexapro for a year so far so good. I'm really proud of myself cause I lost my mother last summer and have been dealing with her estate. It is a great loss for me but I try to keep busy and not be so sad. good luck and be happy! jjules

Im sorry for your loss. I'll give it some more time. Like I said, the anxiety attacks seem to be gone, however some symptoms are lingering. I don't have depression, just anxiety. Thanks for your response.
