Hi. I just started back on my 20 mg of lexapro last night. This morning my stomach is a little upset. I have been off my medication for about 3 months. Does anyone know how long this might last?

Mine lasted for a week. Do you take yours at bedtime or the morning? I'm on 10mg and take it of the morning. You said, you were on it before. Did you have any problems with weight gained with it? I've only been on it for about three weeks. I have problems sleeping with it.

I started when I was in college and eating really awful meals so I did gain weight, but it could have definitely been my diet. I did not have a problem losing weight on it when I started back to working out and eating a little healthier. I take my medication at night. I have been really anxious so I can not sleep at night anyway. I will let you know if I am still having trouble falling asleep after the other side effects subside.

I would give it time. For most people side effects like that will lessen or go away after a while. The initial month or two of starting or increasing medication are always the roughest.

Well I was able to sleep a little better last night. I think I slept about 4 hours. An improvement from the 2 the night before but I did not take my medication last night. I am going to only take half this morning with my breakfast.

Please let me know how you do on half of the tablet. I notice I have tightness in my legs . I don't know if it has anything to do with the medication. I'm a lot more tired with the 5mg. . Stay in touch.

To restart lexapro at such a high dose--no wonder you have side effects. lexapro should be started at 10mg then increase after 1 to 2 weeks. Call you dr. and ask about this as I am not a dr. but take lexapro. Lexapro is great for anxiety, once it works, but is you are havng that much anxiety call your dr. and be upfront about the amount of axiety and ask the doc about an antianxiety medication, like klonopin or ativan for the rough times. are you seeing a PCP or a psychiatrist and do you have a diagnosis, all this matters, the psychiatrist is best at prescribing the correct corabination of medication. also at giving you a diagnoses that may be something different. I was diagnose with a totally different diagnosis that depression and ll my med were changed to the correct type and mg and frequency, I did and it made a world of difference.
Talk to your dr though. you do not have to put up wih the side effects.
Good luck and take care

I was wondering how you're doing with the lexapro? Did you finally start the 10mg and able to sleep?
