Levulan and after effects

I had a ala/pdt treatment 7 days ago, the peeling has subsided but I still have concerns. My face is still red and I have extreme acne now, my doctor says this is a normal reaction and my sabaceous glanRAB are ridding themselves of the bacteria they held. I was wondering if anyone else has had this treatment and if so what they went through.

My daughter has had 6 levulan treatments with IPL (intense pulse light). Her face was red for 2-3 days after each treatment, then the flaking started for another 2-3 days. After her second treatment, she broke out REALLY bad, even a few blisters. Our doctor also told us that was normal, but she was in tears for days. The rest of the treatments did not make her break out any more than usual. We didn't see any improvement at all until after the 6th treatment. That one did the trick. She is almost totally clear now after 7 years of moderate acne. (I posted a detailed account of our experience with Levulan/IPL in a post a few days ago titled "Expensive Cure.") Good luck with your treatments.
