...please read? I'm a college student, I have limited funds. I had a lease in place for 3 months in which I paid security and 1st months rent. On my move in day my landlord told me I couldn't move in and breached the contract. There's no provision releasing him of his contractual responsibilites in the sense he will be paying damages.

He had 5 days to return my deposit, it's been 2 months I've only recieved half as of yesterday. I had to move back home an hour and a half away from my full time job because I did not have the money to put down on a new apartment. I did not have the money for the new apartment because my landlord never returned my deposit, I would have had a new place ASAP if I had my deposit back.

Understand to find a new apartment I need security and 1st months rent, understand it is my landlords fault I had to move home because i had no place to go given I did not have the money to find a new place.

Why did I not have the money to find a new place closer you ask? Because my landlord never gave me back my own money, he spent it, he had 5 days to return my money since he failed to deliver the premises, I was given half of my deposit back yesterday 2 months later.

I can prove I had no other choice but to move back home.

I spend 3 hours a day driving to work, I've put about 6 thousands miles on my car as a result of his negligence. Can I sue for loss of time and wear and tear on my car if I can prove it, which I 100% can?
I don't need an devils advocate here, I need an answer yes or no if I can prove it which I know i can.
