Leo Vinci burning????

I know this question does not involve a Ducati but I want to ask anyone with experiance with Leo Vinci exhaust systems.
I just put a carbon fiber, Leo Vinci slip on, on my GSXR1000. I rode it to the store for the first time (about 4 miles), to get some gas. When I arrived at the store and turned the bike off, I smelled something burning. I then saw alot of smoke coming out the exhaust, like there was a small fire inside. The smoke continued almost the entire time I was pumping gas.
This is my first experiance with Leo Vinci. Is this normal? I'm thinking that the exhaust is just burning in but I'm not sure??

I have had Leo Vince on the last two bikes and I never experienced burning. I would call Leo Vince and ask them. They are very helpful.

My brother in law got some slight smoking and burning smells from his Two Bros Pipes he had on his ZX6R but then he didn't have the same issue when moving up to the 10R I don't think... but it never went anywhere... just a very hot smell and some smoke from the pipes.

Thanks for the responses guys!! I just took the mid pipe apart to make sure there was no packing paper or anything cumbustible inside and everything checked out. I'm pretty sure that it was just the newness burning off but wanted to check with some of you guys.

It could have been a chemical coating used while package or forming the part burning off. Or it could have been your bike running rich before the ECU adjusted. I know the GSX-R 1000 runs a little rich with new exhausts.

The new packing in my Arrows has some light smoke visible when parked after the first few rides then setteled down, no real problem.
