Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events

There was this baby in the theatre when I watched who cried a little sometimes at jumpy parts. But when Sunny says something (her goo goo ga gas), the baby would respond with a similar language.

I never read the books so I dunno if Jim Carrey was over the top or not to play the villain, but I did enjoy his performance. :) Violet was soooo pretty. :flowers: I liked the movie a lot since it reminded me of the fantasy books I used to read as a kid. :read: I like how a lot of things were kept secretive and mysterious throughout, like you never really get to see the faces of the parents and Jude Law. The art direction was just beautiful.

One thing though...a certain cameo in the movie was rather random.

I ended up reading the whole series after I saw the movie. Not a big fan of the writing style, but then again it is for children. IMO, too much Jim Carrey. Even if Count Olaf is the main villain, its a story about the Baudelaires, not Count Olaf.

Sunny's going to be played by someone else?! But she was so cute!

Sunny will be played by a different actress/es?! The twins who played her this time were soooo cute!

They were awesome! I was going to leave, but I remembered reading something about sticking around for them, and yeah. Yay!

They should do a cartoon movie series! That way they could have the same actors, and it would still be awesome! :D

I thought Jim Carrey did a great job portraying Olaf. Liam and Emily did a great job as well.

im such a little kid when it comes to kid movies..i loved this movie.. i thought the script was adorable and the kids are so cute in it .. jim carrey is also hysterical

Hey I am sooo glad there is a thread. I love this movie. I have read the whole series as well and they are depressing but I didn't read the first 3 since that's what the movie was of..they might do that layout..

But I didn't hear about a sequel :( I wish..

Yeah they are already half way done with it.
All the charactors will be the same except for Sunny

I saw this movie, the second day it came out in Oz. I went with my best friend and we decided to go and watch this movie, rather than Ella Enchanted, which we decided on before going to the movies. I really did enjoyed it :) and I know my friend did as well. I think the only thing that kind of bugged me was Jim Carrey's character. Sometimes, he did act over the top.

The thing I most enjoyed the most throughout the movie was definitely Sunny, the baby. Even though, she couldn't talk, those lines on the bottom of the screen translating what she was saying was so funny. My favourite character was Violet. It's nice to see a not well known Aussie actress doing so well in a Hollywood movie.

I don;t like Jim Carry at all.. i only saw the movie because well i thought someone in it was kinda hot. Anyways I "as usual" Hated the charactor Jim played but the rest of the movie was wonderful!

I agree, a while ago there were a load of news about a sequel but now its like they cancelled it or something, does anyone have any news?

I wanted a sequel so bad too :bawl: but I lost my hope for it a long time ago. Love the books so much, and a cartoon seems like a really good idea :D

And I love the shippers that appear later in the books. Not Violet/Klaus

I saw this movie yesterday and I liked it. The acting and the scenery and everything was great. The setting was pretty confusing though. I don't know if I found it that funny though because the theater was packed and full of little kids who laughed histerically during funny parts which to me made the funny parts not so funny lol.

Does anyone know if they're going to make a sequel?

I still haven't heard any news of a sequel. Did that fall through?

And when I first saw this (DVD whenever that came out) I liked it but didn't love it. But seeing it a couple more times the last month or so, it has definitely moved into my favourites :) And I just started reading the books!

And I loved Klaus! :) He was so adorable when he'd hold Sunny, and when he did just about anything else ;)

I'll probably end up taking one or two of my nieces and/or nephews to see this...:D

My nephew Bob is a huge fan of Jim Carrey....He'll be the one who drags me to the theater...

I hope it's as good as it looks...(visually)
