Legality of Posessing and Using Certain Software

I found one thread relating to this but it was closed. Yes, I am one of those nubes who got duped and bought the ebay software. He lied to me and told me it was all open source. when i got it needless to say it wasnt. That was two months ago. Since that time of course I have learned its all available free *somewhere* on the net. But I have always wanted to know is, is it legal for someone to even have this software? Here is the software I wonder about:
Infosoft PST: From what i understand, it was made by a company (Infosoft/Spirent) that was bought by another company. Company no longer exists and/or develops/supports/sells this product. Is it illegal to use it?
UNICDMA: havent looked alot, but [email protected] I cant find him anywhere. Are they still selling this product?
CDMA Workshop: I know cdma-ware sells it, but they also sell more "wares" than anybody, so how do you trust that it is not just more wares? (although i think they have valid copyright)
QPST & QXDM- I know qualcomm never intended it for public consumption. I have no idea how it got out. Wouldnt they come down on CDMA-WARE for advertising it on their site as cracked? maybe its just a rationalization.

I really try to be "noble" in my mobile modding and I am confused about all of this. I know you guys have been doing this along time and know alot more than me. Can you give me some guidance on legality?
Im not asking if its legal to modify phones- I think I have my mind wrapped around that one just fine. Its the software i worry about.

also:
LG DOwnload?
KPST?
RSD Standard or whatever it is?
(NOT ASKING FOR WAREZ!!! JUST ASKING WHERE THE HECK THESE THINGS CAME FROM! REPEAT, iM NOT ASKING FOR WARES)

I can't tell you details, but a lot of the software is licensed to repair centers, which means it can't be used by individuals or other companies.

cdma workshop is about the only do all software i know that you can buy and use on most phones.

Infosoft PST: Was devoloped for sprint, it is illegal to use and have, was sent out to their repair centers and techs.

UNICDMA: This program has been passed from one person to another, im not even quit sure who originally came up with it, it is freeware and is not illegal as far as I know or concered with.

CDMA Workshop: This program is 100% legal as it was devoloped by CDMA-Ware. The programs they sell, they can sell because they are not USA and are in another region where US copyright doesnt matter to them.. At least this is from what i remeraber..

QPST & QXDM- This got what we called LEAKED by people who either intentionally get a job their for this purpose or decided to rebel a lil by leaking it.

LG DOwnload - Released by LG for the service techs and repair shops at least PRO eiditon was. The store edition is just that. Released to the stores to perform instore basic upgrades.

KPST - Same with QPST except for Kyocera.

RSD Genarl - Just like almost every other software was released to techs for repair or upgrades.

All these software's are consider warez, exculding unicdma and CDMA-Ware. You can get a legal version of KPST, I forgot where but it comes with one of their update things from kyocera directly so having that copy of KPST is NOT ILLEGAL.
