Legal Question, about Private College and showing I.D. to be written up for no reason.?

Last week there was a commotion in my Dorm hall way i put my head out to find the R.A. standing there asking to see my i.d. i showed my I.d. but i refused to give it to him so he could write me down, when i asked why he was writting me down, i refused this went on for a good 30 min of back and fourth, my understanding of the NYS Penal Code section 140.50 that i dont need to show my id unless a reason is given, unless i am in a vehicle which clearly i wasnt, now i have a hearing with the R.D. i would love so legal advice on how to get out of
