Legal information on being hit by car?

Ok, so on Monday morning I was hit by a car going at least 20-25 miles an hour. Or so fast that she made my shoes and socks fly off. I was on the CROSSWALK and it had the WALK sign on, AND it was a WELL LIT intersection.. There is one witness, the other witness was a boy that had to go catch the bus to go to school so the police couldn't get his info. I had to go to the hospital and we had xrays taken. While there were no fractures to my bones, I have whiplash and I may need to have an MRI on my shoulder that hit the car because the muscles may be damaged.

I have a copy of the police report and a disc containing the xrays and cat scans that I had to have and her information. Her insurance adjuster or whatever wants ME to fax her a copy of everything.

1. Do I personally have to go BACK to the police station and fax her the info, or is the lady that hit me supposed to do that?

2. What is a fair action to take? Should I sue her for compensation?

Be in mind, I am not looking for money, I am 17 and My mother, myself and the chiropractor I had to go to see today aren't sure of what injuries are going to occur down the road, so what would be a fair amount to ask for?

Any links would be extremely helpful as I am only finding links to things that happen in the U.K
