Leg curls work out.. Makes you slower or faster in sprinting?

they say strength training will help you in sprinting yes, so will explosive lifts and plyometrics. lower rep range is the way to go for strength 2-5 reps
 
you know considering the whole slow/fast twitch muscles
but will "leg curls" make you a faster or slower sprinter in track?

and they say lift heavy weight about 3 sets of 5 or 6 reps to build fast twitch muscles is this true as well?
