Hi Jerry I had an ALIF in June 07 removing L4, L5 and replacing with titanium discs with BMP and fusion. I am in more pain now that before surgery. My pain starts in the left buttock and goes down my leg into my foot. I am on some strong meRAB but still have pain 24/7. I've had PT, aqua therapy, epidurals, trigger point injections, accupunture and more. They don't seem to know why I am in so much pain, this is a WC case and the doctor just released me saying I reached my medical plateau for treatment.
Everyone is different and some a lucky enough to have the surgery and be completely fine and pain free. I hope that is the case with you, it takes time...so hang in there!
