gaynor,
My sister's orthopedic surgeon, perform surgery to unfreeze the shoulder. When my sister was asleep he removed some bone spurs and he made sure that he could rotated her shoulder a few times before he finished the case. An epidural was left in for a few days to help with the pain so that she could begin her physical therapy immediately post op. Her first PT appointment was the day after surgery.
Is this orthopedic doctor sure that it is fact your shoulder, is there a possiblity that the pain is due to something in your cervical spine. Burning pain radiating down your arm sounds more like nerve pain than bone pain.
I think you need to get another appointment and request an re-evaluation. You may also want to obtain your records and seek out another opinion.
