History to staffing company? Left my contract job in project coordination in May because I wanted to start a new career & I wasn't happy in the 9 to 5 setting anymore (husband was working and could afford to pay all the bills himself) (- right after I left- he lost his job of 3 yrs and now we are just starting to get back on our feet).

Anyways, I left on good terms, put in 2 weeks notice, cleaned my desk and finished all my tasks b4 i left. Left my job, went to cosmetology school and got a license from there.

It takes a long time to build a clientele, so until then, I want to work a full-time job in the mornings and build clientele on some weekday nights & Saturday's (it took my sister - she does hair - 2 years b4 she had a full clientele). i think doing this will help us recover faster (we have skimmed our bills down and moved into a cheaper rental property).

The Question?

How do I explain me leaving my job because most employers (and H.R. people don't understand entrepreneurship and fear taking a chance on you because they think u will not be dedicated to their company or staffing company).

How do I explain my leaving my last job?

I know its not good to lie, but I don't want to give too much info, in fear of being passed up.

Can I tell them my contract was up? or do I tell them my husband and I agreed that I would stay home, but that I couldn't do it, cause I was bored and missed working in my field.

Do I tell them I left and went to cosmetology school full-time and decided to do a career switch but until then I will settle for the same old thing i've been doing in the past.

Please tell me what should I do? I got a recruiter who wants to speak to me, but i don't want to say the wrong thing and come off as flaky. thanks
Help........!!!!!!!!
BTW my husband is working again and has been for about 2 months... so that good. I just want to help him get FIRMLY back on his feet!
