Left Hip Pain

Hip pain, about a three inch area over lt hip joint that feels like it's been tenderizer with a meat tenderizer, when I sleep and roll on that side in my sleep the pain wakes me and I can't get back to sleep it is also bad if I have to seat up straight for a couple of hours. This has been going on for 5 yrs, I've had MRI, CAT scan, physical therapy, X-rays,cortisone shot with no luck. I getting were I'm falling asleep behind the wheel of the car because my sleep is so interupted from the pain. It's killing me.

Have a dr check your SI (sacrioiliac) joints. I also have severe hip pain and all my scans show that everything is fine. I went to a pain specialist that also speaciliaszes in back problems and he had me stand straight and did a little pushing and poking and said he suspected SI joint dysfunction as apperently those joints do not move much but upon exam he could manipulate mine very easily. He did SI joint steroid injections as a way of confirming (said if it helped, it would confirm dx). So you may want to have that checked if you havent already. My hip pain gets so bad it travels down my legs to about the back of the knee area causing nurabness and tingling sensations. I also get pain in the pelvic region (which is normal). If you research SI joints there are some sights that show great pics. But, dont get misled by the pics. Because the pain is not necessarily always in the area of the joint itself as I stated it is normal for the pain to be in the hips (my hips have actually given out and I have fallen), down the legs, pelvic area, and radiates accross the buttocks area. dont know if this is your problem but might be worth checking into. hope this helps.
