Lee Harvey Oswald - when was the partial palm print found on the rifle?

As I understood it, the partial palm print was 'found' on the rifle only after Oswald was dead on the 24th Nov. 1963.

Is that correct or was the partial palm print found on the 22nd ? (the day of the assassination). ?

Is it possible that they knew Oswald would be dead within 48 hours so they gave out the information that a partial print had been found on the 22nd, even though at that stage they didn't have one - with the intention of pressing his hand against the rifle ?
It's interesting to note that a 7.6mm Mauser was also found on the 6th floor of the book depository. Seymour Weitzman and Roger Craig testified to that. Weitzman later claimed he was wrong (under pressure?), Craig stuck to what he said and died from a rifle shot to the chest which the coroner decided was suicide.
