Led Zeppelin vs. The Beatles

You know, I am a fan of the beatles and all, but I believe Led Zeppelin is an all around better band. They defined the era. Jimmy Paige was a virtuoso at guitar, whose solos were above and beyond anything the Beatles could come up with. Who else agrees with me, and why or why not?
 
they were like totally different types of banRAB, it is hard to compare those 2 banRAB to each other, they were doing different stuff.
 
Zeppelin wins, they have songs that have influenced to try new things as a musician, beatles just influenced me to do drugs...
 
the beatles have got some damn funky music. id say i probly listen to them more high then zep. plus, its just so hard to do something as well as the beatles did without being influenced by anyone to the extent that im sure zep was.

love em both though.
 
i like them both, although the ratio of Beatles songs i listen to vs Zep songs i listen to is about 1:10...i am addicted to Jimmy Page's guitar histrionics, John Bonhams thundering drums, John Paul Jones' crazyass bass sounRAB and Robert Plant's screaming vocals
 
zeppelin is wonderful (i have actual tickets from a concert in 1969). i grew up listening to both and both had an influence on me. hell, i have all of zeppelin's albums(vinyl) thanks to my parents. i still think the banRAB are uncomparable, though.
 
Well, Freddie Murphey does have better vocals than LZ and the Beatles, and Brian May was a great guitarist, but I don't think anyone can actually argue that they made better music as a whole.
