Few question about employment of [NON-PATENT] lawyers after earn JD, and pass Bar Exam
First, how intense is the competition for law school graduates to find employment if the law school is below #15 of the ranking? Like University of Notre Dame or University of California Davis? For example, if you send 100 resumes to 100 Private Law Firms in Manhattan NY area, and you are graduated from UCD, how many percentage of law firms would give the job to you? Does the size of law firms affect your chance to get in? If so, by how much?
Second, even if I do not intend to become a patent lawyer, is there any degree out there I could seek that would maximize my salary?
Third, I went to few Law School websites and saw their employment statistics; for example, UCD JD graduate in private law firm earn salary range from 85000-160000. If take out the patent lawyers, what would be the new number most likely be? [I understood Patent Lawyers earn crazy amount]
Fourth, I am undergrad double majoring in Political Science [subfield American Politics] and History [field of concentration U.S. History]; would earn MD in either of these fields help me as a Lawyer? And what kind of lawyer would these two BAs be more useful?
Oh and please tell me what Law School you are in or graduated from. It is just so that if anyone is from Yale or Harvard, I would know not have my expectations as high.
Thanks
