The law states that we can have freedom if we allow it to control us. If we don't let it control us, we will lose our freedom because we would now be a criminal behind bars.
Is law a damned if you do, damned if you don't concept?
If we our being controlled, we are no longer free. If we are not being controlled, we will have more of our freedom taken away.
It makes no sense. Is complete freedom not a basic human right?
