So we have
Sides
a = 12
b = 16
c = 18
we dont know any of the angles
CosA = ?
CosB = ?
CosC = ?
so theres two formulas according to my book.. but im using these one:
CosA = b(squared) + c(squared) - a(squared) divided by 2(b)(c)
CosA = 16(sq) + 18(sq) - 12(sq) divided by 2(16)(18)
CosA = 473 divided by 576
CosA = .75694
how is that an angle of any triangle?? In the book of my book it says 40.80(degrees) .. am i missing a step??
rememeber points to the best answer..
incase you want the other formula, its
a(squared) = b(squared) + c(squared) - 2bc CosA
