Laurel & Hardy - much missed on tv

I saw a dvd box of all the Laurel and Hardy's for just 7 euro in a warehouse yesterday. You could watch as many as you'd like.

Personally I don't like to watch them.

I used to love see Laurel & Hardy on BBC, I wish they would they would re-broadcast them again.

Even through the films are over 70 years old they are still as entertaining as ever.

And they could be remastered into HD now. There's a silent film called Sunrise from the 1920's, they've done it with that and it's been very well received.

Sounds like Edgar Kennedy and his Average Man shorts.
I don't remember them, I might hunt about and see if I can find one floating around on the internet ether, I'm curious now.

Edit: I should type faster, got beaten to the punch again.

Laurel & Hardy is alot more entertaining than some of the rubbish that's on tv just now.I remember when BBC2 weekday mornings back in the early 90's would either show a week of L&H 20min shorts or a week of L&H feature films.

It was Leon Errol! It just came into my head at a completely random moment!

Sorry for taking the thread off-topic, but you know whats it like when you cant think of something. :)

WC Fields, Will Hay, loved all of them and they were always on the television at some stage of the day. Maybe as these are specialist interests now, perhaps good old BBC Four can be called up to show them.

O.... I didn't know I dictated the schedules, once more shockingly I know who both men are so can you please stop with the ignorance.

However I do find it funny that recently all I been seeing is that there are too many repeats on tv and lord and beyond people want repeats! ... I guess it shows what people always fail to see, there is a market for everything.

Should it be put back on television, well is it worth re-mastering them, suitable for current television and will it make a difference to the tv schedules to what is already on. Once more wouldn't this just go against the movement to have less repeats on television.

I was only saying this to my husband yesterday. You can't beat Laurel and Hardy, superb, though used to love Will Hay and Abbott and Costello loads too. Used to cry laughing, watching all these. Much better than the rubbish that makes it onto telly at the moment. Ahh, the good ol' days....
