Late Period on the pill?

Ok.. so about 2 months ago I started re-taking my birthcontrol after taking a few months break off it due to lack of sexual activity. I started dating a guy and we we're going to be having sex, we started doing it within the last 3 pills of my first month retaking it. I had basically gotten my period during this time, and then continued on to a 2nd month of birth control which I took everyday just at different times, then I began taking it the same time everyday. I was only late on one pill. My boyfriend and I are very sexually active, and he always ejaculates in me as I know we're clean so I use only birth control as a contraceptive. However.. I finished taking my second month of the pill on friday, and generally get my period sunday or monday. It is now wednesday, and I don't even have period symptoms... I'm terrified i'm pregnant! I'm only 20 and just moved into an apartment with my roomate and boyfriend! A couple of my friends say that the pill can make it late, or stress (Which I have been) and one of my friends even said that the rapid increase in sex could make it late? Is any of that true? Or am I pregnant? I will be taking a pregnancy test if I don't recieve it by friday when I get paid. But in the meantime of worry, any advice would be helpful. Thanks so much!

I've had many of those scares in my day from whacky pills. But it is ESSENTIAL that you take the pill at the SAME TIME EVERY DAY. Do not skip any. The more inconsistent you are the greater your chances of error. But I have been there and nothing ever came of my worry except maybe the worry making it worse. Hope this works as a lesson to you to take them on time. Remember even when taken dilegently they are still not 100% effective.

Hang in there, i hope it works out for the best for you.

I'm sorry you have this worry hanging over you. I am older have haven't taken the pill in many years, but my daughter is currently taking them. She hasn't had a period in several months. She's NOT taking one of the pills which only causes periods a few times a year, so she was really concerned. She took a couple of pregnancy tests and they were negative. Finally she called her doctor and she told her it wasn't unusual. So............my advice would be to try and relax, take your pregnancy test when you get paid, and then call your doctor for advice. Good luck to you and your boyfriend.
