Last Friday night I traded in my 1999 Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer for a 2006 Mercury Mariner. In the contract it?

stated that I was due a $2,000.00 cash back check (no date written next to this, but the salesman said no later than Tuesday, September 13th,) and was given a 500 mile or 15 day warranty on the new Mariner. Just yesterday (6 days after signing the contract) the cruise control went out; I didn't know this because David drove the car to school and didn't tell me that it was broken. Now, tonight, while driving home I had the front passengers window rolled down and upon arriving home realized no matter how I tried I could not get it to close. Also, since I - we (David and I) bought the vehicle at app. 11 p.m. we did not notice that the plastic covering the speedometer, etc, panel was cracked. Now the vehicle is parked in my garage (that has no garage door) with the passenger's side completely exposed and every day so far this week the salesman, Alex, has told us that we haven't received our cash back check because the "General Manger" has been out of town. To ice this cake, we have reservations for the Willie Nelson concert tomorrow night. It is 100 miles away and the tickets to the show and reservations for the room are non-refundable. I have Alex's home cell phone number from his business card and I just called him. He himmed and hawed and said "oh, don't worry, we'll get you in something to take you up there, but Friday is our busiest service day and so we'll just put you in another car. I asked AGAIN about our cash back check to which he replied "don't worry, you'll get some money." I AM worried. I do NOT want to drive a car or some used beat up van to this weekend concert/get-a-way, and am starting to believe I am not going to see the money promised. Considering that I now have to get up early and drive all the way back to the dealership to drop off the new Mariner and exchange it for some gas guzzling piece of junk, wouldn't you all agree that I am now entitled to MORE than just the $2,000.00 cash back? What if they don't accurately and permanently fix these problems we've discovered in just the one week we've had it? Can they somehow back out of the warranty? If they do obide by the warranty, and still cannot fix it to my standards do I get to pick a different vehicle? What type of law(s) personnel can I involve in this to be on my side? We have a local news channel 3 that has a program called just that "3 ON YOUR SIDE." Should I involve them? Obviously, I am a girl and I feel as though total advantage is being taken of me. David said he doesn't know anything about dealing with car dealership's because he's never done this before. Not much help as I'm sure you've gathered, hence, I appeal to your knowledge and help. PLEASE.
