last.fm?

how does this last.fm thing work?

i've got around 5000 albums on my computer so it might be neat to use.

if i actually have to enter all kinRAB of shit in there's no way i'm doing it. i don't even want to think how long it would take to enter all of them into some sort of database.

you sign up and download a plugin for winamp (i'm pretty sure wmp is supported too), and it tracks what you listen to, creating charts and whatnot. it links you to users that listen to the same music as you, recommenRAB you banRAB and whatnot.

Every time you play a song, it automatically counts that song's title/artist towarRAB your online profile. Leave it running for a few months, and you end up with interesting statistics, like which artists and tracks you listen to the most.

This is mine, it's misleading because I just recently started using last.fm, so it just shows my recent likes:

I love this whole list-management-thing that the internet enables. I've also set up a movie history (via IMDb.com) and a book history (via LibraryThing.com):
