...human mind & socio-economics? Think about it - you will find answer! What has caused change in human attitude, environment, social life & economics? At United Nations level; did we think about it when circumstances began to change?....NO.
 
Obviously the advent of mass digital computing and Internet communications have been the most influential. They have, on balance, not been detrimental. Far from it.
I would say the most detrimental invention has been the notion that government can produce prosperity and cure all ills -- i.e. the subordination of personal accountability.
