well im from louisville, ky originally and while living there about a year ago i went to te hospital because i had noticed a sort of knot on my hip/upper right thigh..and it was pretty painful...well the doctor told me that it was nothing..and that it was just bone and it would go away on its own...wellll now a year later im in fort wayne, in and i went to the doctor and told her about it...since it hadnt gone away after this whole year and it was hurting worse then ever..waking me from my sleep...and so on...well she felt it..so she sent me to get an x-ray...well the x-ray didnt detect anything...so she sent me for an MRI...the MRI showed that i have a large mass/tumor that is 7.9 by 5.7 by 4.8 centimeters...[very large]...so of course im freaked out...now she refers me to a specialist..who looked over the MRI...he told me that the tumor looks benign on the MRI, but because it is encased in the muscle alot of doctors would automatically call it malignant, since theres not supposed to be any type of fatty material in a muscle...so yea...i have to have surgery on Oct 23 to get the mass removed...[scared about that..never had surgery or put under anesthetic]...then the mass will be sent to pathologist and they will test it..i have to wait a week..then i go to my post-op appt...and the doc will tell me if it is benign or malignant..if it is benign [Lord willing] then i will be finished...but if it is malignant they have to do a pretty big surgery and remove the muscle that the tumor is in...im just really stressed out...does anyone have any insight??? thanks =] sorry its so long =D
