i moved out of a rent house after having a lot of problems with the landlord, befor i moved out i washed a bunch of my stuff.. well i left a load of laundry in the dryer by accident, well i noticed about a week later and he would not answer his phone to me so i told the woman that helps him with his houses to get my stuff for me.. well a couple weeks go by and i go back to see if she got it for me and she said the landlord threw all the clothes away... well he also has been sending me letters talking about how hes going to sue me.. for damages that were NOT done by me! he also said the place was filthy when we moved out, which it was not at all i cleaned that house from top to bottom and made sure it was clean! but anyway my question is if he brought me to court to try to sue me for these damages, could i sue him for throwing my stuff away? i live in the state of illinois. and the landlord is crazy anyway, the day we moved out he parked a block away and watched us the whole time.. then i got told he followed us to our new house to get our new address. i have no proof of the damages not being ours b/c i have no pictures. and i live in the state of illinois
