How soon after such an operation are you allowed to drive, fishing or drive with someone? What exactly does the recovery period entail?

I was able to drive after my post op check-up which was 10 days later. Fishing I would think would be several months. No heavy lifting (assuming you would catch the BIG one) I didn't feel like doing too much for about 8 weeks

Hi, you will find that your restrictions vary depending on the complexity of your case and your doctors personal preferences. Some doctors are more strict/lax than others.

A good example is my doctors said 6 weeks before driving and the previous poster said they were allowed to drive at 10 days. That is a huge difference.

As far as fishing, I would think at least 12 weeks before you could comfortably cast your line. That is a pretty big stretch in my opinon but of course I am simply another spinal patient and the best resource to get your case appropriate answer is your surgeon.

Good luck and remeraber we are here for you.
