Ladies..getting hair cut and showering in navy boot camp?...?

So I have pretty long hair to about the middle of my back (it's probably my best attribute)...

If I join the navy and they have me cut my hair to shoulder/chin length how long until it will grow all the way back? Because it's my favorite part of me and I'm afraid it won't grow back and I won't look right with short hair (Right now I won't even layer my hair I love it so much)...

Also, what are the showers like? I know everyone says that you get used to it..and after you've been through PT you won't really care but.....are they 2 minute showers, are you completely naked, do any other females look at you, are you close together???

And I heard that females are no longer required to skirts. Is this true? Because I absolutely hate skirts. When would I absolutely have to wear a skirt?
Please be serious because I'm looking to join for money for school.
 
you dont have to cut your hair... but you will have to wear it secured to your head (usually in a bun) while in uniform.
with dress uniforms (at least in the army) females have a choice between the skirt and the pants.
with the showers... you get in, wash, and get out. its just like gym in highschool... you wont be the only girl in there but no one really looks around.
yes youre naked... do you expect to get clean with clothes on?
Its not a big deal...you get used to it.
