..."cowards" and cant handle a debate ? I have noticed that to be a trend lately. I think I come across much to
strong for some on here. Everytime I blast somebody in a debate,
they tuck tail and run like a scolded dog. I never do that. Anyway.
When you are having a heated debate with someone, and then email
them. Then they block you out. Isnt that person a coward ?
Or maybe they are too sensitve, and cannot handle the cold truth.
Have you ever had this happen to you before ? Explain please.
 
I don't usually email someone based on arguments on Answers, however, I've noticed that people are nicer/out-spoken via email. I'm a little handicapped as in I can send a message to someone from work, but can't read their responses immediately. Any link with the word 'mail.***' is blocked here.

Blocking is a provision given to us by Y!A. If someone blocks you because it is their right, you have every right to block them back. IDK how effective it would be, since they can still answer your question even when you have them blocked. Some genius here unearthed a ridiculously simple method of bypassing a block.
 
The thing is that I am a great opponent of grown people abusing the blocking feature unless they are being routinely harassed or otherwise directly attacked by another user. The only other time I advocate it is when a given user routinely switches user handles and is there solely to insult another user.

I feel that debate is inappropriate on Y!A since it exists for asking and answering questions. Debate is clearly not what Y!A is here for. I wish people would use Y!A as it was intended. There are lots of other sites for people who wish to debate, but Y!A is purely a Q/A site, nothing more.
 
I've blocked very few people since I first started coming on Y!A. The only people I have ever blocked were the ones who couldn't handle a debate so they proceeded to attack me. I'm sorry, but Y!A is just fun for me. If there are people who just want to attack me for whatever reason, I don't have the desire to pay any heed to it. So I just block it out. It rarely happens though. I think I've blocked a total of four people in the years I've been on this forum, most of whom don't exist anymore, at least not in the incarnation I blocked.

As for people who have blocked me, I don't know of any, nor do I care if anyone has. Like I said, this is just fun for me. I don't bother to give energy to the pettiness of getting upset if I'm blocked.

The first time I know of being blocked was probably a misunderstanding, eh.

The 2nd time i know of is someone who blocks pretty much everyone so double eh.

I blocked both because I saw someone suggest it so you see the little block dealy and know it's them. Made sense so I did it.

Oh, and the guy who says he hates how women like rough sex when he holds them down and says they're whores blocked me too.

3's not so bad. There could be more but I don't know about it. Meh =o)
