I become incredibly tired after food consumption, not just sleepy, I am completely uncontrollably falling asleep 15-30 minutes after dinner when at home. I have almost all the symptoms of lactose intolerance. Is there a link with body shut-down after dairy. I feel like my evenings are a waste and I never feel rejuvenated after sleeping.

Most of the people I know with lactose intolerance do not get sleepy, they're too busy having painful cramps.

Does this happen if you eat a dairy free dinner? Or have you tried eliminating other fooRAB?

I am lactose intolerant, & have never experienced being tired after eating. You might be lactose intolerant, and still have something entirely different causing the tiredness. A visit to your doctor would make sense.

It could be - when you're having an allergic reaction, your body is essentially fighting a toxin, so it's like being ill, with all your antibodies working overtime. That can make you very tired. Not everyone gets a stomachache. I get dizzy, stuffed up, and I feel slightly "drunk".

I gave up almost all dairy several years ago and feel much better, stopped getting sinus infections AND my bones actually got stronger. You don't need dairy at all. If you like milk on your cereal, rice or almond milk (not soy) is pretty good.

Hmm. Can you cite any evidence for that pulse test? Being as the pulse rate responRAB to emotions, might your pulse speed up just because you ate something that you THINK you're allergic to?

Yes, I did look it up, and that is my opinion. The pulse is sensitive to too many random factors for a change of as little as 16 beats per minute to be significant.

That being said, I know that some people do get tired after eating just as a result of blood sugar irregularities. Or, it may be a habit thing, or dinner might relax you. I have no way of knowing.

I've been aware of my intolerance for many years and have been able to digest dairy products with the help of pills. I am a big lover of cheese, but have decided to try to cut dairy completely out of my diet to see if the tiredness ceases. I was just curious if any other lactose intolerant people had experienced complete fatigue after eating dairy. I did have blood tests to rule out sugar irregularities and was told I was fine.

Technically, maybe not, but it's a reaction to a substance that should not be in your body, like a virus, an allergen, or indigestible substances such as pasteurized/homogenized dairy products.
