Lacrosse: whats a good exercise to improve poke checks?

hi, im a freshman in highschool and i currently play defense for lacrosse, ive developed a reputation at my school for launching people in the air or on their ass with my poke checks at least once a game (no, not spearing- in a totally legal way) My coach says he wants to see me doing that more often and i was just wondering if there was anyway i could improve them. Other than that im fairly decent all the way around, im pretty agressive, i've got a fair slap check and got the v-hold down...any workouts or drills that would improve them would be appreciated
okay i was sorta not looking for diets considering im 6 feet tall, 150 pounds, and at roughly 10 percent body fat... something i could do to improve my form or technique not a diet
