Lack of fluids causing problems?

THanks. I hate a ton of dry skin and dry hair. I KNOW that I need more water but with 4 kids running around and other activities, I forget most of the time. I know I need to do things for me but that's just the hard one to remember and when I do remember, my stomach is usually not feeling well so I don't want to add things to it.

But how can they say that evryone needs 8 glasses or a set limit of water a day? I read that it should be half of your body weight. So I'm 108lbs, which should be 54oz a day. But, I also read that you get half of that water intake through your food and other liquids. My DH weighs 200lbs, which should mean he needs 100oz a day. That's a big difference between us so how do you know what's right?
