Lack of facial hair, lot of acne

Im am a 20 year old male with an average amount of body and pubic hair, however I have alot of acne on my face and have had it since high school however it only grows in places with out facial hair like were my side burns and the rest of my beard should be but arent, I grow very little And always thin facial hair on my upper lip and a small patch on the bottom of my chinwhich is odd by itself because every were else grows in thick, somebody once told my the acne is preventing my facial hair from coming in but this doesn't sound very credible can any one please help me on this?

I may be a lady, but this interests me actually because I have a friend who suffers the same thing. I did a little research and got a couple different answers. One was that acne shouldnt prevent you from growing facial hair, and another said it can prevent it due to your pores being all clogged up. Either way, Im no professional and you should probably get a real doctors opinion
