Lack of coverage for 3.5 miles

I live in Frederick County, MD and commute in Montgomery County MD for work. There is a 3.5 mile stretch of road where I have no coverage at all. I have tried AT&T and the coverage is perfect, no problems at all. I really don't want to switch from TMO. I spoke with TMO and they said it is a known issue and are working on it, but it has been like this for 2 years. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to escalate this problem.

I thought that you could use other network towers and it would just be roaming, shouldn't he get a signal regardless of the GSM carrier?

He would only get signal from another carrier if Tmo has signed a tower lease agreement with them to "borrow" the tower to cover holes in their coverage.

I know Tmo/ATT do this in parts of California, and I know in North / West Texas they use some of Cell One's GSM towers.

go with the blue.

there's a reason tmo has the largest amount of plans, the best prices and most bang for your buck. they have a good overall coverage area, but there are quite a few holes that they just aren't going to patch for the foreseeable future. I live in a major metropolitan area and there's still about 6 blocks in which tmobile is dead/near dead for signal (0-1 bars) and has been that way since the voicestream era.

they just aren't in the same league as Verizon, Sprint, or ATT for coverage. sorry =0/

(p.s. i'm a happy tmobile customer)

I have had similar problems and I have checked out other carriers (Cingular, Verizon) and despite these few inconvieniences I still like t-mobile the best overall.
